André is the Principal Flute of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. His first orchestral experiences at the National Youth Orchestra of Spain (JONDE), the Britten-Pears Orchestra and the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester led him soon to perform with such orchestras as the Sinfónica de Galicia, Filharmonía de Galicia, Sinfónica de Tenerife, Orquesta de Cadaqués, Orquesta de la Comunidad Valenciana, Orchestra Mozart, Nacional do Porto, Staatkskapelle Dresden and Sinfónica de Asturias. He performs regularly as a Guest Principal Flute with the BBC Scottish, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Philharmonia Zürich, Spira Mirabilis, Sinfónica de Castilla y León, Filarmónica de Gran Canaria, Sinfónica de Barcelona (OBC), Gran Teatro del Liceu, Malaysian Philharmonic and Orchestra Leonore.

He is not only an experienced orchestral musician, but also a passionate chamber musician. When not playing in the Orchestra you can find him performing with the wind quintet Azahar Ensemble, the Natalia Ensemble - a symphonic ensemble which he founded and where he is the artistic director and arranger - or in one of his duo projects with pianist Irene Alfageme, harpist Bleuenn Le Friec, or guitarist Pedro Mateo González.

His career as a soloist takes him around Spain, Germany, Poland, Georgia and UK next to orchestras like Sinfónica de Galicia, Sinfónica de Castilla y León, Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid, Real Filharmonía de Galicia, Dresden Staatskapelle, Scottish Chamber, Georgian Sinfonietta or Filharmonia Zabrzańska and such conductors as Jean-Christophe Spinosi, Zsolt Nagy, Alejandro Posada, Lanfranco Marcelletti, Vladimir Jurowski, Miguel Ángel Gómez-Martínez, Joana Carneiro, Guillermo García-Calvo, Vakhtang Kakhidze, Maxim Emelyanychev or Peter Whelan.

In 2019, together with Oihana Gimenez, they founded the Festival de Música de Cámara de Anguiano in La Rioja (Spain).

André studied in his hometown Santiago de Compostela and Salamanca with Luis Soto, Laurent Blaiteau and Pablo Sagredo. He then went on to study with János Bálint at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold (Germany) and with Jacques Zoon at the Haute École de Musique de Gèneve (Switzerland).

He loves sharing his passion for music with his students. He was a flute and chamber music teacher at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Aragón between 2013 and 2020 and since 2020 he is the Flute Teacher at the Fundación Barenboim-Said. He also gives numerous masterclasses and courses around Europe and coaches youth orchestras such as JONDE, OJA, JONC, JOGV, OSIM, NYOS or OSAV each season.

His numerous arrangements used at his workshops (flute duo, flute ensemble, wind quintet, large wind ensemble, mixed ensemble…) can be found at the publishing house Jopfen Music.
